Privacy Policy

What the extension does

Torii · Local AI Analyzer inspects your computer’s capabilities to recommend which small AI models it can run, then downloads and runs those models locally in your browser using WebGPU. It is designed so that your usage stays on your device.

Information the extension reads

To recommend models, the extension reads technical details about your device on the device only:

• GPU capabilities (WebGPU support, limits, feature flags)
• CPU model and logical core count
• Total system memory (RAM)
• Available storage for caching model files

This information is used solely on your device to size model recommendations. It is not transmitted to us or to any third party, and it is not stored beyond your current session.

Network requests the extension makes

The extension only contacts the network for two non-personal purposes:

• Downloading open AI model files from third-party providers (e.g. Hugging Face, jsDelivr, GitHub). These are ordinary file downloads of publicly available model weights. No personal data is sent.
• Fetching a topic “knowledge pack” (factual text for a subject such as “cooking” or “coding”) from the Torii service. The request contains only the topic name — never your identity, your prompts, or any personal data.

Your conversations

When you chat with a model in the extension, the model runs entirely on your device via WebGPU. Your prompts, the conversation, and the model’s responses are processed locally and are never sent to any server, including ours.

Local storage

The extension may store small preferences on your device (such as which topics and model you last used) and caches downloaded model files in your browser so they work offline. This data lives only in your browser and can be cleared at any time by removing the extension or clearing site/extension data.

What we do NOT do

• We do not collect or receive personal information.
• We do not use analytics, tracking, cookies, or advertising.
• We do not sell or share any data.
• We do not transmit your hardware details or your conversations.

Permissions, in plain language

• system.cpu, system.memory — read hardware specs to recommend runnable models.
• Host access to model providers and the Torii service — download open model files and topic knowledge packs.
• storage — remember your preferences on your device.
• sidePanel — show the analyzer in the browser side panel.

Children’s privacy

The extension is a general-purpose developer/productivity tool and is not directed to children. It collects no personal information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the date above and post the revised version at this URL.
